Understanding Connections: Sports Edition
Connections: Sports Edition is a new version of the popular word game that challenges sports fans to identify the common threads between words. This game, developed by The New York Times, follows the same concept as its predecessor, Connections, where players must find groups of four words that share a common theme. Just like Wordle, this puzzle resets daily and becomes increasingly difficult with each new set of words. To help players navigate through the challenges, hints and tips are provided.
If you’re looking for today’s puzzle solution, you can skip ahead to the end of this article. However, if you prefer to solve it on your own, continue reading for some clues, strategies, and helpful advice.
What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The latest daily word game from The New York Times has launched in collaboration with The Athletic, which provides the publication’s sports coverage. This game can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words that share something in common. Each puzzle features 16 words divided into four categories. These categories could range from book titles, software, country names, and more. While multiple words might seem like they fit together, there’s only one correct answer.
When a player successfully identifies all four words in a set, those words are removed from the board. If a mistake is made, it counts toward a limit of four mistakes before the game ends. Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, players can share their results on social media.
