Yajirobe: The Cowardly Samurai Who Stays Grounded
Yajirobe, the fat samurai, has always been a bit of an oddity among the Z fighters. He started off as a strong warrior, even defeating Cymbal in one hit. However, over time, he has taken a step back from the main action. Now, he spends his time growing senzu beans for the Z fighters, ensuring they have enough energy to fight when needed.
Despite his cowardice, Yajirobe has a humorous personality that has divided fans. Some find his antics annoying, while others enjoy his quirky nature. Regardless of opinions, he remains a loyal ally to Goku and contributes in his own way.
Goten: A Character Defined by His Role in the Story
Goten, Goku’s younger son, is often seen as a supporting character. He shares a strong resemblance to his father but hasn’t carved out a distinct role in the story. His main purpose seems to be facilitating Trunks’ transformation into Gotenks.
While he may not have the same level of impact as other characters, Goten’s relationship with Trunks and his connection to the Pilaf Gang add layers to his character. However, his overall contribution to the narrative remains limited compared to other Z fighters.
Yamcha: A Fallen Hero

Buu: A Powerful Ally with Limited Involvement
Buu was a major threat during the Buu Saga, but after becoming an ally, he helped Mr. Satan gain recognition as the world’s strongest man. He also played a role in the Universe Survival Arc by defeating Basil.
Despite his power, Buu hasn’t been as active in later arcs. He was originally supposed to participate in the Tournament of Power, but fell into hibernation. This forced the Z fighters to seek help from Frieza instead.
Present Trunks: A Promising Future
Trunks from the main timeline has yet to fully showcase his potential. However, his relationship with Vegeta has significantly influenced Vegeta’s character growth. Trunks also acts as a leader to Goten, showing a dynamic that contrasts with Goku and Vegeta’s relationship.
Although he and Goten are often seen as tools for the fusion into Gotenks, Trunks stands out due to his relationships with his family and the Pilaf Gang. His influence on those around him makes him an important character, even if he hasn’t taken center stage yet.
Android 17: A Reintroduced Favorite
Android 17 returned in Dragon Ball Super during the Tournament of Power arc. His appearance was well-received, and he played a key role in defeating Jiren. His decision to switch sides after the Cell Saga added depth to his character.
Android 17’s combination of strength and strategic thinking made him a valuable ally. His return provided closure for fans who had questions about his fate after the Buu Saga.
Android 18: A Fan-Favorite Character
Android 18 quickly became a fan favorite after her introduction in the Cell Saga. Her battle against Super Saiyan Vegeta demonstrated her power, and her marriage to Krillin added a human element to her character.
She has continued to support Krillin in his training and has remained a consistent presence in the series. Her participation in the Tournament of Power further solidified her importance to the story.

Despite being a time-traveling Saiyan, Future Trunks has a different approach to fighting compared to his father and Goku. However, his loyalty to the Z fighters and his ability to save both timelines make him a vital character.
