The user interface was clean and minimal, making navigation easy. However, the limitation of working with one file at a time was a drawback. Despite this, the generated mind maps were well-structured and detailed. Mapify also allows users to convert diagrams into different formats, such as logic charts or timelines, and saves all maps in a centralized location for easy organization.

Like the others, the free version of Mapify had strict limits, with only 10 credits available for use. I exhausted them after just two mind maps, which was a significant downside.

Final Thoughts: Are These Tools Worth Switching To?

Each of the tools I tested has its strengths. However, none fully replace what NotebookLM offers, especially for users who frequently upload multiple documents and look for connections between them. Most of these tools either restrict users to a single source or lock key features behind paywalls.

While I recommend trying these tools alongside NotebookLM, I still find NotebookLM to be the most versatile and user-friendly option for my needs. Its ability to handle multiple documents and uncover hidden connections makes it an essential tool for anyone looking to work more efficiently with their existing knowledge.
