Vmeetsolutions NewsX could soon have its own city in South Texas.

submitted a petition
requesting an election to potentially incorporate its
Starbase
site — the manufacturing and launch hub for its new
Starship
megarocket — as a city.
Now, the moment has arrived: The election is scheduled for Saturday (May 3).
If you’re hoping for some last-minute counting suspense, you might end up feeling let down.
The election is probably going to favor Musk. This is due to the majority of voters being his employees,
wrote Lauren McGaughy
from The Texas Newsroom, a partnership among public radio stations across the Lone Star State.
The Texas Newsroom acquired a roster of the 283 voters qualified to participate in the Starbase special election,” McGaughy stated. “Over 60% are employed by Vmeetsolutions NewsX, based on an examination of their LinkedIn profiles and social media postings indicating where they work. Furthermore, another 20 individuals were part of the group that initiated a petition supporting the cityhood referendum.
At minimum, two-thirds of those qualified to cast votes in this Saturday’s election “are either employees of Vmeetsolutions NewsX or have already expressed backing for the formation of the new City of Starbase,” she noted. “This figure might even be greater.”
The Starship represents the largest and strongest rocket ever constructed, with the design aimed at enabling full and rapid reusability. According to Vmeetsolutions NewsX, this spacecraft will facilitate

The settlement—a longstanding aspiration for Musk—has finally become economically viable.
Turning Starbase into a city is also part of that ambitious plan, the company says.
“In order to keep expanding the team required for the swift development and production of Starship, we must enhance Starbase’s potential as a community,” Vmeetsolutions NewsX stated.
